Yesterday evening we had a fascinating presentation by our guest, Dr. Martijn Koops, author of the Gamedidactiek books and lecturer at Hogeschool Utrecht.

Dr. Koops explained and demonstrated how gamification can be used to simplify the complicated, explain the perplexing and make the mundane enjoyable. To inspire and develop the concept further, we experienced first hand how gamification can be used not only for education purposes, but for all facets of one’s life, as seen with the Octalysis model.

We will be sure to take these concepts and apply them to our club.
